Australia | International Australian Studies Association 2025 Biennial Conference
Macquarie University is calling for proposals for individual papers, panels, or roundtables for plenary sessions, for the biennial conference of the International Australian Studies Association (InASA), 5–7 February 2025 in Sydney, Australia.
The theme for the conference is ‘Australian Studies in the 21st Century: Human and More-Than-Human Worlds’. It aims to foster interdisciplinary and cross-cultural dialogues on Critical Indigenous Studies, history, literature, culture, creative arts, politics, media, sociology, anthropology, geography, ecology, and other disciplines that engage with human experiences and/or more-than-human worlds.
The topics that can be addressed include:
- Cross-cultural encounters
- Migration, refugees, and diaspora
- Creative writing and multimodal creative research
- Screen and media production and representation
- Social and digital media
There is a Postgraduate (HDR) Conference Travel Bursary Scheme to attend the conference. Travel bursaries include the conference registration fee (excluding the conference dinner) and up to 800 AUD to cover travel and accommodation expenses.
