Bangkok | SPAFACON 2024 call for papers
SPAFACON 2024 is calling for original research papers in archaeology, fine arts, and cultural heritage in Southeast Asia for the conference in Bangkok, Thailand, 10–14 June 2024.
The SEAMEO SPAFA Conference (SPAFACON) is the premier academic gathering hosted by the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organisation Regional Centre for Archaeology and Fine Arts (SEAMEO SPAFA), aimed at advancing knowledge and understanding of the archaeology, fine arts, and cultural heritage in Southeast Asia.
SPAFACON provides a unique platform for individuals from a variety of disciplines and perspectives to share their research, insights, and passion for the region. The conference will consist of 3 days of sessions (10–12 June), a day of excursions (13 June) and a day of workshops (14 June).
They are calling for papers that contribute to the fields of:
- Archaeology: latest archaeological discoveries, methodologies, and theoretical insights related to Southeast Asia's history
- Fine Arts: encompassing both visual and performing arts, and topics such as traditional and contemporary art forms, artistic expression, and the preservation of artistic heritage
- Cultural Heritage: experiences and research findings related to heritage conservation, community engagement, and the safeguarding of tangible and intangible cultural heritage
