British Council Climate Futures: South Asia grant programme
The British Council is calling for applications from artists and organsiations based in South Asia for their Climate Futures grant programme. The grant will support the creation of artistic responses to climate issues and encourage the integration of sustainable practices within cultural operations.
The new programme is supporting the arts sector through grants, mentorship, research, and knowledge exchanges between the UK and South Asia. The programme will support artists and cultural organisations to develop impactful responses to the climate emergency.
The goal is to empower the arts community to contribute to climate action and sustainability through innovative and impactful projects.
This may include projects that:
support artist-led initiatives that promote knowledge creation and sustainability in the cultural sector,
design and implement a sustainability strategy or process for your organisation including capacity building initiatives and,
optimise infrastructure to enhance climate change awareness and sustainable approaches within the arts sector.
Successful grantees will receive mentorship throughout their project from leading UK specialists.
Eligibility
Artists or cultural organisations must be based in Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan or Sri Lanka.
Project proposals should have a timeline ending no later than 31 January 2026.
Support provided
The project offers grants of 15,000 GBP to artists and cultural organisations seeking to develop projects that address the climate emergency.
