British Council International Collaboration Grants 2024

The British Council is calling for applications from organisations for the second round of their International Collaboration Grants programme.

This grants programme encourages new bilateral and multilateral partnerships, providing funding to enable organisations to make and develop creative artwork with their international peers and help individual artists find innovative ways of collaborating.

Applications must demonstrate genuine international collaboration and deliver explicit benefit to participating UK artists and organisations and their international partners. Projects can address any theme and applicants are asked to share their approach to diversity, inclusion and environmental sustainability in the delivery of their project.

The scope of a project might be to collaborate on a piece of art, a film, music or a piece of writing, or could include any of the following

  • residencies
  • exhibitions, festivals, showcases, performances, screening programmes
  • projects which focus on or include digital innovation
  • conferences, panels and talks
  • creative use of archives
  • research and development of future project ideas.

Although this is not a fund focusing on professional development, the outcome does not strictly need to be a completed artistic outcome. The development of skills can be part of a project with the primary outcomes supporting creative and artistic work.

Grant projects should be completed by 30 September 2025.

Each project should include at least one UK-based organisation and one organisation based in the countries listed as part of the partnership, including the following ASEM nations: Bangladesh, China, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand, and Viet Nam.

Available grants range between 25,000 GBP and 75,000 GBP.
