China | Sixi International Artist-In-Residence 2025
Sixi AiR Project is calling for applications from international artists for a residency in Nanjing, China, from March to May 2025.
Lauched in 2024 to support young emerging artists, the Sixi International Artist-in-Residence Project is committed to facilitating exchanges between artists from different backgrounds and helping them achieve creative breakthroughs and personal growth in their creative work.
An apartment in the city centre and a loft studio in the outskirts are available for the research and production demands of artists of different disciplines. Apart from the necessary hardware facilities and staff assistance, the organisation will also help the artists to establish contacts with the local art scene. By the end of the residency period, artists will also have the opportunity to showcase their outcomes in exhibitions.
Eligibility
- Artists or artist collectives from all disciplines are welcome to apply, especially artists working in the visual arts as their primary artistic language, or in non-material research-based projects.
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old at the time of applying and in good physical and mental health.
- Sufficient English language skills for research and communication.
- Compelling rationale, plan, and execution for the residency.
Sixi AiR Project will cover fees of:
- Visa application
- Travel expenses (return flight)
- Insurance for the duration of the stay
- Accommodation (100 square metre private loft studio with Bedroom and Kitchenette)
- Residency personnel assistance, technical assistance
- Material allowance
