Czech Republic | Dance writing workshop on the body and mobility

The project Dance and Performing Arts Criticism in Europe is calling for emerging European dance critics and writers to apply for a three-day seminar (16–18 July 2022) during KoresponDance Festival in the Czech Republic.

A collaboration between Czech Dance News and Performing Arts Hub Norway, the free seminar Write/Move will explore and discuss mobility through writing and how writing is a trace of motion. The workshop will investigate the writing and the dancing body as well as the sites and spaces these bodies move within. Along with individual and collective writing tasks the participants will be sharing their respective practices of dance writing. The seminar will be led by Anette Therese Pettersen and Hild Borchgreving, experienced dance and theatre critics in the Norwegian dance scene.

The seminar is for free and previous experience with writing about dance is not required. The language of the seminar is English.

The workshop will be held in Castle Žďár nad Sázavou, about two hours by car from Prague, Czech Republic.
