Denmark | HALD literature residency for published authors

None haldhovedgaard-2013

Call to published authors to apply for 4 week summer working residency in Denmark.  Thanks to the Danish Centre for Writers and Translators four foreign authors (who have had at least two books of fiction or poetry published) and eight to ten Danish authors will have the opportunity to work undistracted in an old Danish house located in the beautiful environment of Hald Hovedgaard, near the town of Viborg, in Central Jutland, in the period July 14 – to August 11, 2014.

Selected authors  will be able to benefit from meeting other authors in an informal setting as well as talking in the living room, resting on the terrace in the summer or cooking -maybe together - in the kitchen: this is all part of a stay at Hald Hovedgaard.

Moreover, during their staying authors will be invited to take part in the The Great Book Day at Hald, the Danish Centre for Writers and Translators’ book and literature festival, which will be held on August 9, 2014.

Selected authors will receive a sum of DKK 10,000 to cover expenses, such as food, travel insurance, health insurance and possibly visa fee; travel expenses will be refunded up to DKK 5,000 (DKK 7.000 overseas).

Beside personal information, application should contain a short explanation of motivations for attending this international summer residence programme, as well as a short description of the project to be working on during the stay.

Deadline for applications: 1 April  2014
