The Design Trust Hong Kong offers Cultural Projects Grants for seed capital to practising designers or non-profit organisations who require funding for project or activities that engage with the design culture of the Greater Pearl River Delta Region (GPRD*).

Design Trust serves as a dynamic platform that promotes creativity, lying at the confluence of public education and the creative industries. It will do so by providing flexible and responsive funding for projects that stimulate design talent, research initiatives and content related to Hong Kong and the Greater Pearl River Delta Region (GPRD*).

*Cities within the GPRD include: Hong Kong, Macau, Dongguan, Foshan, Guangzhou, Huizhou, Jiangmen, Shenzhen, Zhaoqing, Zhongshan & Zhuhai.

Objectives:

  • development of design  and culture of the GPRD region internationally

  • To provide funding support for the introduction of vibrant events to the GPRD region

  • Funding for initiatives involving not for profit organisations, designers, and cultural practitioners


Grant amount:

  • The value of the Cultural Project Grants range from HKD 10,000 to HKD 50,000.

  • Annually, a Feature Project Grant capped at HKD 500,000 is available upon special consideration.

  • The Foundation may provide full or partial funding on a case-by-case consideration.


Eligibility:

Applications are accepted from individuals, collectives and certified non-profit organisations who are either based within the GPRD region or are seeking support for design projects related to the region.

Application:

Applications will be reviewed on a quarterly basis.  Submission deadlines are on the 20th of January, April, July and October. 

Next deadline: 20 October 2015


Late submissions will be considered in the next cycle.  We recommend you submit your applications at least 6 months before the commencement of your project.  For more details on the application process, please click HERE.

Review and Selection:

Each proposal will be screened for eligibility and reviewed by an independent panel of evaluators.

Successful applications will be notified within three months from date of application.
