European Festivals Fund for Emerging Artists 2022
The European Festivals Association (EFA) is calling for festivals in Europe to apply for the European Festivals Fund for Emerging Artists (EFFEA), which supports residencies for emerging and mid-career artists hosted by festivals within a period of 11 months.
The Fund will support 50 residencies for emerging artists at 50 festivals per year. Each residency includes the collaboration between a leading festival and at least two partner festivals per project. The initiative is built for festivals to support and offer emerging artists a platform to develop their careers on a European level and it is also an invitation for cooperation between festivals.
There are two types of residencies
The EFFEA “Discovery” Artist in residence (40 grants of 8,000 EUR each)
This grant is for early career artists with exceptional talent and ready to break through internationally. The leading festival, together with two partner festivals, will form a partnership with the purpose of creating bridges for the artist to develop through:
- A residency and coaching at the leading festival, to develop an artistic idea, including facilities for rehearsals
- Meeting with at least three programmers (the leading festival and a minimum of two partner festivals) during their residency
The EFFEA “Springboard” Artist in residence (10 grants of 15,000 EUR each)
This grant is for mid-career artists, established in their own country, ready to develop their careers internationally. Artists in residence will have access to present their work at three festivals in Europe (the leading festival and two partners) with the purpose of building their career internationally.
Eligibility
The call is open to all arts festivals that are registered on FestivalFinder.eu. Eligible countries are the EU member states and Creative Europe countries, as well as Armenia, Switzerland, Turkey, and the United Kingdom.
