European Media Art Platform Residencies 2022
Call for artists duos, collectives or other artistic collaborations based in Europe and the UK who work in digital art, media art and bio-art to apply for a two-month residency between June 2022 and January 2023.
The project is an initiative of the European Media Art Platform (EMAP), with the support of the European Union’s Creative Europe programme. EMAP promotes intercultural exchange and there is a new collaboration component of the EMAP residency programme, as such applicants are expected to include a proposal for a collaboration in their application.
The selected artists will be collaborating with a person of their choice or a person local to one of the following host institutions:

- FACT Liverpool, United Kingdom
- gnration, Braga, Portugal
- iMAL Brussels, Belgium
- IMPAKT [Centre for Media Culture], Utrecht, the Netherlands
- Kersnikova Institute (Kapelica Gallery), Ljubljana, Slovenia
- KONTEJNER | bureau of contemporary art praxis, Zagreb, Croatia
- LABoral Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial, Gijón, Spain
- m-cult, Helsinki, Finland
- NeMe Arts Centre, Limassol, Cyprus
- Onassis Stegi, Athens, Greece
- RIXC Centre for New Media Culture, Riga, Latvia
- Werkleitz-Centre for Media Art, Halle (Saale), Germany
- WRO Art Center, Wroclaw, Poland
The residency includes:
- Invitation to initial conference in Zagreb 17–19 June
- Grant of EUR 4,000 for the applying artist(s)
- Grant of EUR 2,000 for collaborating artist(s)
- Project budget of EUR 4,000
- Free accommodation, travel expenses and access to technical facilities and/or media labs of the host institution
It also includes a professional presentation and the option to participate in exhibition tours or festivals.
Applications
Applicants must be EU residents or taxpayers in an EU member country or the UK. Undergraduate and master students are not eligible (PhD candidates are accepted), but emerging artists are encouraged to apply.
