Europe’s Transport and Environment open calls on biofuels and air travel

Europe’s Transport & Environment (T&E) is calling for artists for two open calls: one on biofuels and one on air travel.

Open call: artistic collaboration on air travel

T&E's Travel Smart campaign is looking for an artistic collaboration to highlight the realities of environmental challenges, particularly those arising from unsustainable transport modes and business travelling.

Artists and small collectives (up to 3 people) committed to sustainable development and with practices around climate change are invited to submit a project, new or existing, on the theme of air travel that explores its impact and alternatives to it.

The main audience of the campaign are corporate actors, including company decision makers and employees. However the project audience is the wider public and it is desirable to consider the communities and groups affected by travel policies.

In situ, public space and/or replication in company space can be considered as locations to present the work and location proposals are encouraged. First show of the project outcomes will be in Brussels unless otherwise dictated by the work.

Proposals based on formats that can be replicable and implemented in various geographies, languages and national contexts will be privileged: performance, installation, conceptual work with physical components, audiovisual art

Open call: artistic collaboration on biofuels

Artists and small collectives committed to sustainable development are invited to submit a project on the theme of biofuels and food security.

The project is part of T&E’s Food Not Fuel campaign. The project aims to inspire change and inspire people to imagine new actions and new ways of being more compatible with our planet that go beyond burning biomass and fossil fuels and to consider communities and groups affected by biofuels policies.

In situ and public space can be considered as locations to present the work and location proposals are encouraged. First show of the project outcomes will be in Brussels unless otherwise dictated by the work.

Work that can be replicated in national capitals across Europe would also be considered, but is not a must.
