Finland | Saari Residence 2019 open call
The Saari Residence, maintained by Kone Foundation, is a residence located in Mynämäki, Southwest Finland, for artists of all disciplines and nationalities. It offers an excellent opportunity to focus undisturbed on creative work in the scenic surroundings of a rural manor house, as well as opportunities for interaction with other residents.
The application period for 2019 residency places begins on 1 August, 2018 and ends on 15 August, 2018 at 4 p.m. Finnish time.
The residency places are intended for individual professional artists, fiction writers, poets and novelists, translators, curators and critics and artistic collectives (work group or an established organization with a Business ID) of all disciplines and all nationalities for the purpose of carrying out a project proposal presented in advance.
Residency places are intended for artistic work. Priority is given to fresh, multidisciplinary or non-mainstream themes and fields of art. Applicants must present in their application a project proposal or a work plan for their residency.
Spring, autumn and winter are reserved for individual artists working in four two-month periods while the summer, from May to August, is reserved for intensive group work. Individual residency includes accommodation, workspace, and a monthly grant. The grant is awarded to cover living and travel expenses. Groups may apply for support for travel and living costs if their residency is of a shorter duration (1–4 weeks).
