Forecast Mentorships 2024–2025

Forecast is calling for applications from artistic practitioners and cultural producers working in all creative fields, anywhere in the world, for their 9th edition of Forecast Mentorships.

The call is open to applicants of all ages and does not prescribe a theme. The only requirement is to submit projects that are relevant to the expertise of the mentor. The mentors for this edition are: Choreographer Alice Ripoll (Brazil), designer Fiona Raby (UK), photographer Lieko Shiga (Japan), artist Theo Eshetu (UK), documentary filmmaker Tomer Heymann (Israel), and composer and performer Ute Wassermann (Germany).

The selection process is two-tiered. First, the mentors select three nominated concepts each. The 18 nominees are invited to Berlin to discuss their ideas and present them at Radialsystem during the Forecast Forum taking place 29 July – 5 August 2024.

Following the Forum, each mentor will select one concept to accompany to its realisation over the following months. The outcomes of these collaborations will then be presented at the Forecast Festival, taking place at Radialsystem, Berlin, 14–15 March 2025 (with set-ups starting from 10 March 2025.)

What is provided?

Selected proposals in the Forecast Forum (July–August 2024) will receive a fee of 2,000 EUR, which includes the production costs of the presentation. Travel and accommodation for participants at the Forecast Forum in Berlin is provided. (If you apply as a duo or collective, Forecast will cover travel and accommodation for only one member.)

Projects selected to be one of the six mentee projects to be showcased at the Forecast Festival in March 2025 receive an artist fee of 6,000 EUR and a production budget up to 8,000 EUR.
