France | Festival des 3 Continents 2024 call for films
The call for films of the Official Selection of the 46th edition of the Festival des 3 Continents is now open. The festival will take place in Nantes, France, 15–23 November 2024, and it screens both fiction and documentary films.
The festival is focused on the discovery of filmmakers and promotion of recently completed films through its Official Selection – usually composed by an International Competition and Special Screenings.
The Festival des 3 Continents accepts all fiction and all documentary films, whatever the subject, type or form. However, they encourage applicants to become acquainted with the festival’s editorial project. The festival does not select news programmes, documentaries or reports of a journalistic nature, promotional or corporate films.
Accepted films must be:
- completed after 1 November 2023;
- made by directors who originate from or are nationals of a country from Africa, Latin and Indigenous America, Black America or Asia;
- at least 45 minutes in length;
- have the French premiere available (this applies to the International Competition)
Prizes
- The Montgolfière d'Or is awarded to the director(s) of the winning film: 6,000 EUR
- The Montgolfière d'Argent awarded to the director(s) of the winning film: 4,000 EUR
- The Distribution Support Award is awarded to the French distributor of the winning film: 3,000 EUR
- The Young Jury Award is awarded to the director(s) of the winning film.
- The Audience Award is awarded to the director(s) of the winning film: 3,000 EUR
