France | Residency for film scriptwriters and directors from Germany and Italy
Kultur Ensemble Palermo, the city of Sète in south-east France and the local cultural association Lucusta are calling for applications from film scriptwriters and directors based in Italy (Sicily) and Germany for a five-week residency at Villa Salis in Sète, France.
With the support of the City of Sète, the association Lucusta is developing European residencies to encourage film creation and the emergence of new talents in the Occitanie region. The association is in charge of the artistic direction of the residencies, ensuring that the residents receive specific and personalised support.
Application criteria include the following:
- For directors or scriptwriters in film
- Film project in development phase (fiction or documentary, feature-length film), with or without producer.
- Be aged under 36 at the moment of the residency.
- Be based in Italy/Sicily or Germany.
Support
- A return journey between the place of residence (Italy or Germany) and Sète, up to 400 EUR.
- A stipend of 1,500 EUR for 5 weeks of residency.
- Private room in the Villa Salis with access to a shared kitchen.
- Shared workspace at Villa Salis.
- Accreditation for the CINEMED festival in Montpellier (17-25 October).
- Preparation, participation and special support during the Cinemed Meetings, professional industry meetings for the development and production of film projects in the Mediterranean region.
- Supervision and coaching by a film professional.
- Contact with the local art and professional scene.
- Presentation of the resident's work in a cultural venue in the city of Sète.
