Germany | Residency for Baltic Sea artists 2026

Atelier Josepha in Ahrenshoop, Germany, is calling for applications from international artists for a 3-week residency between September and December 2026.
Atelier Josepha brings together nature and art under the central theme of the Baltic Sea. It promotes critical reflection on the historical and current circumstances of the region. The residency stands in a tradition of cultural cooperation and exchange within the area and is inspired by the need to reflect on our mutual environment and shared seas – both as forces of nature and in their increasing vulnerability.
Eligibility
Atelier Josepha invites artists of all disciplines to Ahrenshoop. The call is addressed to solo artists only. Eligible artists (no age limit) must be resident of a country that borders on the Baltic Sea. Residents from other European countries can exceptionally apply as long as they have some close and established connection to the Baltic Sea region.
Funding
- Use of Atelier Josepha and lodging in the neighboring house (board not included).
- Stipend of 1,500 EUR (500 EUR per week of stay)
- Travel expenses to and from Ahrenshoop (by train where possible, flights where necessary)
