Hong Kong | Venice Biennale exhibition internships

None Applications are invited from Hong Kong for a programme of 6-week exhibition internships at the Venice Biennale to contribute to the monitoring of the Hong Kong exhibition site in Venice from June to November.

The 54th Venice Biennale will be held from 4 June to 27 November 2011 (preview from 1 to 3 June 2011) in Venice, Italy. Since its inception in 1895, the Venice Biennale is the world's earliest and most high-profile visual arts Biennale. It has received great and evergrowing support and recognition from the international visual arts community.

This year marks the Hong Kong’s sixth consecutive participation in the event. Hong Kong’s participation in the Venice Biennale, which is organised by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council, aims to proactively promote cultural exchanges between Hong Kong and countries around the world.

In the 54th Venice Biennale, the Hong Kong exhibition “Frogtopia. Hongkornucopia” will display Kwok Mang-Ho’s (a.k.a. Frog King) mixed media works of art under the curatorship of Benny Chia, Tsang Tak-Ping and Wong Shun-Kit in association with Hong Kong Fringe Club.

With the aims to nurture local art talents, the Hong Kong Fringe Club is now looking for enthusiastic individuals to join the Exhibition Internship Programme at the Hong Kong exhibition of the 54th Venice Biennale. Each intern will stay in Venice for about 6-week on a full-time basis between May and December 2011.

Applicants must be a Hong Kong Permanent Resident at the time of applying for the internship programme.
