Hungary | 9th Verzió DocLab and Documentary Film Critics Workshop

Verzió International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival is calling for applications for two of their programmes – the 9th Verzió DocLab for directors and editor and the Documentary Film Critics Workshop – to be held in Budapest, 5–9 November 2024.

Verzió DocLab

The 9th Verzió DocLab is a 5-day intensive editing workshop for directors and editors. The focus of the Verzió DocLab workshop is story development and editing. With the guidance of international mentors successful applicants will work on their documentary project’s story, and edit a selected scene that they will present at the end of the workshop in front of an audience of festival programmers, sales agents and producers. Verzió DocLab is looking for projects by first or second time feature directors.

The participation is free of charge and comes with a full festival accreditation. Travel costs are covered by Verzió up to 200 EUR/person and Verzió provides accommodation for each participant for the time of the workshop.

Verzió Documentary Film Critics Workshop

The 3rd Verzió Documentary Film Critics Workshop is open to aspiring and early-career film critics. Selected participants will receive free accreditation to the 21st Verzió Film Festival, access to the industry events, as well as networking opportunities with other critics, filmmakers, and members of the international documentary community. The workshop language is English.

The organisers cover the expenses of accommodation for the time of the workshop and the travel fee up to 200 EUR for 1-1 participants from the following countries: Croatia, Slovenia, Greece, Serbia, Macedonia, Kosovo, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, Germany, Austria, Luxembourg, Switzerland, South Tyrol, Spain, and France.
