India | Bodies-Machines-Publics 2024 residency for artists from India and Switzerland

Khoj International Artists' Association, India, is calling for applications from artists from India and Switzerland for their 8-week 2024 residency at Khoj Studios between October and December 2024.

The programme, entitled 'BODIES-MACHINES-PUBLICS A glocal network exploring bodies in the age of computer mediated reality', brings together a ‘glocal’ (global and local) network of cultural and research partners in Switzerland, India and Chile that seek to provide time and space for artists and creators to develop prototypes and works exploring the sensitive body and technical mediation in relation to public space. The project is a two-year collaborative initiative between NAVE (Chile), Khoj International Artists’ Association (India), and Immersive Arts Space/ZHdK and Kornhausforum (Switzerland) and is supported by the Pro Helvetia Synergies Programme.

Khoj extends an open call to artists, welcoming applications from a diverse range of creative practices using both digital and physical technologies such as wearable sensors, VR/AR headsets or other data gathering systems and the possibility of challenging them through artistic creation. Artists with a focus on innovative concepts spanning objects, installations, artefacts, performances, screenings, and interventions within the realms of Interactive Art, BioArt, Hybrid Art, AI and Life Sciences, Sound Art, Net Art, Digital Communities, are encouraged to apply.

Khoj will help the selected artists to get access to media and fabrication labs.
