India | Curatorial Intensive South Asia programme 2024
Khoj and Goethe-Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan are calling for applications from early and mid-career curators from South Asia to apply for the 6th edition of the Curatorial Intensive South Asia (CISA) programme, (re)imagined this year as a month-long, in-situ research residency at Khoj, New Delhi, India, 15 September – 15 October 2024, followed by a showcase.
The CISA residency will offer five curators from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Bhutan, Afghanistan or Iran, the opportunity to establish contacts and build networks with cultural practitioners, researchers, academics from India, South Asia and beyond.
The CISA programme aims to develop diversity of perspectives on the medium of the exhibition to provide a structured and an experimental inquiry into the possibilities of curatorial practice today.
The residency at Khoj will have two phases.
- Phase I (15 September – 15 October) – Research, Mentoring and Project Development Phase
- Phase II (March or April 2025) – Outcome Showcase
The participants will receive a daily allowance to offset food and local travel expenses and accommodation at Khoj, along with a production budget of up to 1 lakh Rupees per person to realise their projects in the second phase.
