India | Sangam House writers' residencies 2020-21 call

The application cycle for the 2020-2021 season for writers' residencies at Sangam House in Bangalore, India is now open. The season will run from 31 October 2020 to 30 January 2021.

To be considered for a 2020-2021 residency, your application (including separate letter of recommendation) must be received electronically by the end of the day, June 30, 2020.

Sangam House is located at The Jamun, a spacious bungalow set on a green lane of Bangalore. It is a calm and quiet environment with easy access to the city center. The Jamun draws its name from one of the fruit and flower trees that surrounds the property.

Since its opening, The Jamun has hosted various artistic events, conference and gatherings, previously working with Sangam House to host literary translation workshops and international readings.

How to Apply:

All applications must be submitted electronically. See website for guidelines and links.

A residency at Sangam House covers only board and lodge. Writers are required to cover travel costs to and from our location. If selected, all non-Indian applicants will be responsible for obtaining a tourist visa to India six weeks in advance of their travel date.

A number of fellowships are offered, with different eligibility conditions - see website.
