Visual and performance artists and art critics are invited to the ‘Artist village residency’ in the most colourful state of India (Rajasthan) best known for its rich cultural and artistic traditions. “Sowing Seeds” is a project that intends to create dialogues and exchanges amongst artists beyond their national identity and serves as an opportunity for rural artists to meet, share and exchange ideas, visions, and diverse views in order to create a deeper understanding of art. It acts as a medium of developing and improving the artistic impressions of experts as well as emerging artists. As an alternative art space in INDIA, “Sowing Seeds” is geared to meet the challenges required to organize such a contemporary artist village residency within rural areas and thus giving rise to a new era in art.

Expression has different faces which are religion, spirituality, social beliefs which all form the picture or genre called life. Artists from all over the world are invited to exchange their ideas, through this interactive media of art.

The key to the artist village residency is the fine interaction (Sowing Seeds) of village life with its natural habitat and to understand how beautifully they derive their inspiration for a creative urge from these natural resources.

The artist residency will bring together 15 international artists practicing in a wide variety of media, to work among each other, and share ideas and methods for a period of 14 days in the serene village of Andore. Selected artists will be provided with full lodging and food, working space, local transportation and a small material stipend.
