Japan | 25th UBE Biennale International Open Sculpture Competition

None

In the autumn of 2013, Ube City in Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan will hold the 25th UBE Biennale International Open Sculpture Competition.  Open call for entries from artists worldwide.

Since “The 1st Ube Exhibition of Outdoor Sculpture” was held in 1961, it has been continued to be held every 2 years. UBE Biennale has developed into the sculpture competition which has the longest history in Japan. We celebrated the 50th Anniversary of Open-Air Sculpture Exhibition last year.

18 winning pieces and 40 selected models will be displayed at the exhibition at Tokiwa Park. After the exhibition the top 2 pieces will be placed along the streets or in the parks of Ube City.

See website for details of application process, prizes and entry fees.

You can also download the guidelines in English, Japanese, Chinese and Korean.
