Japan | Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale 2027

The Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale (ETAT) is calling for submissions of art projects and performance works, to be held at the 10th edition in 2027.
The chosen artworks are expected to highlight the unique history and culture of Echigo-Tsumari region and feature distinctive and abundant nature that has the power to raise awareness of Echigo-Tsumari internationally.
There are two categories.
- A: Free Proposal: A proposal for an artwork or performance to be developed at the Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale, specifying the location.
- B: Proposal for a selected site/project: Choose from a list of site options.
In principle, works must remain in good condition for at least four months. For performances, there must be at least one performance day during the exhibition period, or multiple days/performances.
Support
Selected artists will be awarded a production cost subsidy (approximately 500,000–2,500,000 JPY). The production cost subsidy covers all costs necessary, including travel and accommodation.
