Job | Artistic Director - Winchester Hat Fair, UK
Live Theatre Winchester Trust seeks an Artistic Director with primary responsibility for the Winchester Hat Fair, a yearly festival of Street Arts in the historic city of Winchester in southern England, and a broader role leading the artistic life of the organisation.
This is a new post which will suit a person with substantial experience of festivals, street arts and creative partnerships. This role is an exciting opportunity to forge a ground breaking creative organisation from a festival, a theatre and a city.
The Artistic Director will work with the Chief Executive of Live Theatre Winchester Trust on artistic policy, strategy and development across the whole organisation and contribute to fundraising, stakeholder liaison and advocacy.
Specifically, the Artistic Director will be responsible for the artistic, financial and administrative success of two programmes: Hat Fair, a yearly festival of Street Arts, and Off Stage, a programme of site specific performances.
Hat Fair Festival is a street arts festival which takes place across the historic city of Winchester. It is the UK's longest running street arts festival, now in its 40th year. Hat Fair inspires and is inspired by the people, heritage and public spaces within the city of Winchester.
The post is a full time post and includes evening and weekend work and some foreign travel. The job is based in Winchester in the south of England.
