Julius Baer Next Generation Art Prize 2023 for young artists in Asia
The Julius Baer Next Generation Art Prize is calling for applications from artists aged between 21 and 40 years old who are residents of China, India or Southeast Asia.
Artists will be selected on the strength of their online portfolio before being invited to submit a new artwork concept that they would like to develop.
Submissions must reflect at least one of the Julius Baer Next Generation Investment themes:
- Arising Asia
- Digital Disruption
- Energy Transition
- Feeding the World
- Future Cities
- Shifting Lifestyles
- Inequality
- Sustainability
Digital art can either be understood as any artistic work or practice that uses digital technology as part of the creative or presentation process, or as computational art that uses and engages with digital media.
About the prize
Six winners will be selected for incubation and be mentored by leading figures from the art and business worlds. These six winning works will be showcased via an interactive virtual exhibition in the second half of 2023.
The Prize will include an inaugural three-month Art and Technology Accelerator programme (March–June 2023) for six winning artists to develop a new piece of digital art, to prepare them to become creative entrepreneurs ready for the digital age.
Participating artists may also be invited to a gathering of artists, creative practitioners, and entrepreneurs who are championing the arts in Asia.
