Korea | Asia Culture Center Residency 2022
Open international call for creators and researchers to apply for Asia Culture Center (ACC) residencies in Gwangju, Korea from August to December 2022.
The Asia Culture Center is an international arts organisation dedicated to bringing together the art and culture of Asia, innovative ideas, and beliefs to create new, future-oriented outcomes. ACC Residency serves as a platform to support experts, researchers, and creators in various fields who push forward groundbreaking and future-oriented ideas that fuse artistic creativity and technology.
This year the residency focuses on ‘Post-COVID-19 Era, Posthumanism’. The theme offers a deep dive into aspects related to the Fourth Industrial Revolution and digital transformation coupled with a recent paradigm shift towards non-contact. The latter can include, for example, changes in the concept of labour and the relationship between humans and things (the post-human). These explorations could lead to the production of experimental artworks addressing various issues raised during the pandemic. Calling for planetary coexistence and solidarity, the residency wants to delve into what kind of post-humanism is needed in the post-pandemic era.
