Korea | UNESCO City of Literature Wonju Residency 2023

Wonju UNESCO City of Literature is calling for writers to apply for their 8-week residency at Toji Cultural Center, September to October 2023.

Wonju City of Literature offers a chance for one writer from a city of literature to come to Wonju and stay at Toji Cultural Centre for 8 weeks, as Wonju City of Literautre’s international level contribution to the cities of literature network, designed to promote the understanding and the friendship of cities of literature

In the 2023 call, one writer from a city of literature and/or who has a close connection to cities of literature will benefit from the Wonju Residency 2023. 

The residency offers the following:

  • 8 weeks at Toji Cultural Center (1 September–31 October 2023)
  • A return air ticket
  • Transportation and airport transfers 
  • Organic meals provided at the cafeteria of Toji Cultural Center
  • One room at Toji Cultural Center
  • Opportunities for the resident to connect with other Korean writers and artists

There are no requirements or planned outcomes, instead, the residency offers a chance for writers to relax and write in this peaceful environment.
