The international open call for the Korean International Ceramic Biennale 2021 - KICB International Competition - will open in January, with a deadline for submissions on 31 January 2021. Cash prizes, residency invitations will be awarded with an exhibition held in autumn 2021 in Gyeonggi Museum of Contemporary Ceramic Art.
Eligible works for submission: contemporary artworks created using clay (ceramics) in genres such as sculpture, crafts, painting, photography and video art, as well as ceramics for use.
The KICB International Competition has been driving the discourse on ceramics that explores the diversity, future value of ceramic art, and fostering new possibilities for reinterpreting traditional values, thereby cementing itself as one of the most prestigious international events in the realm of ceramics all around the world.
In 2021, the format of the International Competition will revert to an artwork open call.
KICB started in 2001 at the World Ceramic Expo with the mission of proposing the direction and vision for the future of world ceramic art and will be held for the 10th time in 2021.
The exhibition will be held online in addition to the on-site exhibition due to the changes in how we enjoy art in the new era.
Showcase your imagination and creativity to the world at the Korea International Ceramic Biennale 2021 International Competition, which aims to shed light on the spirit of ceramic art, not only in traditional art, but also innovative artistic expression that transcends genres and breaks down preconceived notions of art.
