Kota Kinabalu International Film Festival | Call for submissions

The KKIFF (Kota Kinabalu International Film Festival) was started in 2009. Its main purpose is to build up, nurture and present emerging filmmakers in the ASEAN region. The festival has a focus on documentaries - and so the Sabah Film Academy participants make two short documentaries and the Sabah Pitching Training & Awards is for the pitching of feature-length and short documentary projects.
The KKIFF 2015 takes place in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia from 31 May-11 June, 2015.
The Festival is calling for submissions and applications. All applications and submissions close on 30 April, although DOCS+ has an earlier submission date on 15 March 2015.
Submissions are being called for:
1. Rolling10 Filmmakers' Competition - open to the ASEAN region - closes 30 April
2. DOCS+ - screening opportunity for feature-length movies and shorts from the ASEAN region - documentaries, plus other genres - closes 15 March (for information to be in the KKIFF 2015 programme booklet) and 30 April.
The KKIFF 2015 is also open for applications for:
1. Sabah Film Academy - open for Malaysians - applications close on 30 April
2. Sabah Pitching Training & Awards - open for filmmakers in the ASEAN region with new documentary film projects, both feature-length (60 minutes plus) and shorts (up to 20 minutes) - applications close on 30 April - some financial assistance given towards airfares
