LIVE WORKS Performance Act Award | open call
An international open call for the LIVE WORKS Performance Act Award. Nine selected projects will be offered a creative residency period at Centrale Fies in Northern Italy in July 2015, with performances of their works.
The competition is open to a wide range of emerging performative actions, including: media arts, lecture performances, task performances, text-based performances and multimedia storytelling, relational practices and workshop-based projects, flash mobs, politically engaged and activist project, experience design, fashion design and relational urbanism.
Artists and professionals from any geographic location can enter the competition, as individuals or in groups, with a single project. The competition only accepts unpublished or long-term projects that need to be developed and/or concluded, for which participation would represent a continuing or final chapter.
The nine projects selected by LIVE WORKS will be invited to participate in a production residency at Centrale Fies from 1st to the 10th July 2015, during which they will be awarded a budget of € 800 to produce their performance.
The performances produced will be presented during the 35th edition of the Drodesera Festival of Performing Arts. On this occasion, the nine finalists will be evaluated by a jury who will select the winner.
The winning artist will be offered the possibility of an additional residency phase at Centrale Fies and a € 1000 prize (net).

Please check the guidelines and conditions carefully. Note there is an obligatory registration fee (€ 24). The residency offers room and board costs, with no daily allowance, and a maximum of 200 € travel costs per project. The finalists agree to attend the residency phase (1-10 July 2015) and to present their performance on 27-29 July.
