Malaysia–Germany Artist in Residence Exchange Programme 2023
The Goethe Institute is calling for contemporary visual artists from Germany and Malaysia to apply for the 3-month Artist in Residence Exchange Programme between Frankfurt and Kuala Lumpur.
The Artist in Residence Exchange Programme supports and encourages contemporary visual arts and promotes international exchange between Frankfurt and Kuala Lumpur. The programme offers young and emerging artists the opportunity to gain experience regarding their own artistic practice and to build an international network.
Emerging visual artists from both countries can apply for the scholarships. An independent jury in Malaysia awards up to 5 candidates and proposes them to the partner-city, Frankfurt. The jury in Frankfurt will select the most suitable candidate and invite him or her to participate in the residence program.
The period of residence in the host city is 3 months.
What is provided?
The winner will receive a scholarship of 1,000 EUR per month as living allowances.
The host organisation will provide return flight tickets, 3 months of accommodation, a working studio, curatorial support, integration into the local artist network and support for the realisation of a project or presentation at the end of the residency, which is optional and financially supported.
