MAP Academy editor jobs

The MAP Academy, an open access online platform for the study of art histories and transregional connections in South Asia and beyond, is currently looking to fill various editorial positions. 

MAP Academy is a team of researchers, editors, writers and creatives working to build more equitable resources for the study of art histories from the Indian subcontinent. They are currently based across India, Southeast Asia, Europe and beyond and the team works remotely. They are looking for the following: 

• Senior Editor: will join the team to work on a variety of editorial projects, particularly for special multimedia projects and the blog, Perspectives. Ideal candidates should have a strong background in arts and culture journalism and media, an understanding of the academic, sociopolitical, and commercial dimensions of art history across South Asia, and an ability to identify, commission, and edit work from a range of contributors.
• Research Editor (Architecture: Encyclopedia of Art): who will be responsible for substantive, technical edits, helping produce deeply researched and well-articulated entries related to architecture in South Asia that adhere to the Encyclopedia’s editorial frameworks. Ideal candidates should have proven editorial experience and a deep background in architecture and art history.
• Research Editor (Encyclopedia of Art): will be responsible for substantive, technical edits, helping produce deeply researched, verified and well-articulated entries that adhere to the Encyclopedia’s editorial frameworks. Ideal candidates should have proven editorial experience and a strong interest in art history in South Asia.
• Research Editor (Courses): should have proven editorial experience and a strong interest in pedagogy and art history in South Asia. A Research Editor will be responsible for ensuring coherence, consistency, flow and factual soundness in the written and multimedia content that forms part of the MAP Academy’s Learning vertical. The role also involves developing course strategy in collaboration with the team, working closely with researchers — both in-house and external — script editors, graphic designers, and video producers.
