Moscow International Biennale for Young Art | open call
Under A Tinsel Sun is the title of the III Moscow International Biennale for Young Art, which opens July 2012.Call to artists under 35 years to submit work.
The organizers are the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Department of Culture of the City of Moscow, the National Centre for Contemporary Art (NCCA), Moscow, and the Moscow Museum of Modern Art (MMoMA), in collaboration with Neuer Berliner Kunstverein (n.b.k.). Its curator is Kathrin Becker, Berlin.
Biennale for Young Art "Qui Vive? " will be held July - August 2012 and will present works by young artists - objects, graphics, paintings, installations, photos, multimedia, videos, performances, sound art, etc. A special educational program will be introduced, consisting of a series of master classes, lectures and round tables with participation of art historians, critics, curators and artists from all over the world.
For the first time at the Biennale 2012 there will be a contest among the participants. The jury will include leading Russian and international experts in the field of contemporary art.
The main exhibition locations for the Biennale 2012 will be: Central House of Artists (CHA) , National Center for Contemporary Art (NCCA), Moscow Museum of Modern Art (MMoMa).
The III Moscow International Biennale for Young Art 2012 focuses on a young generation of artists aged up to 35 years. The III Moscow International Biennale for Young Art 2012 presents drawing, painting, photography, video, performance, mixed media, installation and sound art. The exhibition project promotes the critical examination of the conditions for artistic production today. It will be accompanied by an extensive publication (in English and Russian, with numerous illustrations, essays and short texts about the participating artists).
