MOST Music 2022 open calls for Balkan music and professionals across Europe
MOST Music has three programmes open to promote Balkan music and professionals throughout Europe.
The mission of MOST Music (the bridge for Balkan music) is to boost the music market of the Balkans by connecting and supporting actors of the world music scene; artists, managers, festivals and institutions.
The project’s scope in the Balkan region includes the following countries: Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kosovo, Albania, Macedonia, Romania and Bulgaria.
Balkan Music Export programme
The Balkan Music Export (BME) pillar aims to support world music artists from the Balkans, representing all related subgenres (using a broad definition of world music that includes traditional, folk, ethno, ethno-jazz, global beats and beyond), to connect to the global music market. The project aims to jump-start the international career of artists. In this final round 10 artists will be enrolled, receiving financial and other support, as well as greater visibility to create a buzz about world music from the Balkans.
Festival and Club Exchange
The Festival and Club Exchange (FEX) pillar brings together representatives of 2×10 festivals and clubs/concert venues each year: ten from the Balkans and ten from other parts of Europe. They have the chance to visit and work with each other and exchange artists within the framework of the programme. The exchange between the pairs broadens the professional network and artistic scope of both parties involved, facilitated by a renowned mentor.
Management Training programme
This pillar is meant for young, emerging booking agents, artist managers, promoters, venue or festival curators, label managers, facilitators, and similar music industry professionals. The goal is to train a new generation of highly skilled world music professionals in the Balkans and provide them with professional skills, a wide European network and international experience. This programme is focused on junior, beginner managers or cultural management students who aspire to work with musicians from the Balkan region and represent them on the global market.
