New Zealand | Show Me Shorts 2019 - call for short film festival

Submissions are now open for the 14th edition of Aotearoa New Zealand’s leading international short film festival.

Show Me Shorts 2019 will take place this Spring in more than 25 cinemas nationwide from Kaitaia to Stewart Island.

We are seeking short films from Aotearoa and around the globe. The films must be between 2-20 minutes long. New Zealand music videos between 1-10 minutes long are also invited to submit.

Short films can be of any genre. We accept animation, documentary, comedy, horror, drama and everything in between. We do have a preference for cinematic narrative-style films with strong audience appeal, as well as films that are making their premiere in our festival.

All selected films compete for a range of awards and a prize pool valued at more than NZ$40,000. Show Me Shorts is proud to be New Zealand’s first Academy Awards® accredited festival, with the winners of our Best NZ Film and Best International Film awards eligible for nomination for entry to the Oscars®. Check out the Prizes page of our website for the full list of awards and prizes.
