Nordic Council grant programmes for Nordic-Baltic Sea Region-Russian cooperation
The Nordic Council of Ministers has opened a new round of applications for funding from two of its programmes - the programme for Nordic-Russian Co-operation and the programme for NGO co-operation in the Baltic Sea Region. The aim is to encourage initiatives that will build capacity and strengthen networks through activities such as informing each other of experiences and best practices.
Two Nordic Council of Ministers programmes of international cooperation are open for grant applications. One covers the countries of the Baltic Sea Region, is open to applications from NGOs and includes culture as one of the focus areas. The Nordic-Russian Cooperation programme covers Nordic countries and Northwest Russia with themes of innovation, energy, environment, climate change, inclusion, human rights, social affairs, and indigenous peoples.
NGO Cooperation in the Baltic Sea Region
Objective of the programme
The overall objective of the programme is to promote co-operation between Nordic, Baltic, Polish, Belarusian and Russian NGOs to underline the key role that NGOs play in building networks and cross-border co-operation in the Baltic Sea Region. The programme has existed since 2006, and NGOs are invited to apply for funding from the programme for international co-operation projects. Read the guidelines and instructions below.

Countries: Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Belarus, Russia
Eligible applicants and partners: Only NGOs can apply. Involvement of other actors is encouraged when feasible, but the costs of such cannot be covered by the grant.

Nordic-Russian Cooperation Programme
The Open Call and Civil Society & Human Rights Initiative for Nordic- Russian co-operation provide a funding opportunity for co-operation and networking projects. The projects must involve partners from the Nordic countries and from seven regional areas in Northwest Russia. Both authorities, universities and civil society organizations etc. can participate in the projects, which include topics such as innovation, energy, environment, climate change, inclusion, human rights, social affairs, and indigenous peoples.
Countries: Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Russia, Faroe Islands, Åland Islands, Greenland
Eligible partners and participants are: local and regional authorities, civil society, educational institutions, think tanks and business organisations (not private commercial companies). Projects with a Nordic lead partner/administrating body will be favored.
