Officine Saffi Award | open to ceramics artists worldwide
Officine Saffi awards those artists who have chosen ceramics as their main expressive language for a research between contemporary art, collectible design and craft. Now in its fourth edition, the competition is open to all contemporary artists and designers of any age, whether emerging or established, individuals or members of collectives, and with no restrictions on theme, gender or nationality.
Applications are open to the fourth edition of the Officine Saffi Award. This biennial award supports and promotes artists working with ceramics in contemporary art and collectible design.
A prize of €10,000 is available along with 8 Residency prizes in collaboration with major international partners.
A Panel of Experts will review all applicants and it will shortlist the artists that will be exhibited at Officine Saffi in February 2021. A jury composed of distinguished players of the art and design scene will award the winner.
The competition is organised by the Officine Saffi in Milan. Residency prizes are offered in ceramics museums, foundations and other institutions in Italy, Netherlands, Japan, Denmark, Switzerland and Finland (you can choose which to apply for when you submit work).
Applications are open till November 30th 2020
PLEASE NOTE: there is an obligatory entry fee payable (30 - 50€ depending on your age)
Officine Saffi has been promoting international contemporary ceramics since 2011. The project has distinguished itself over the years for its multidisciplinary approach, embracing the world of contemporary art, design and decorative arts. It pursues its mission through a gallery, workshop, publishing house and a biennial award. These entities work independently, whilst sharing the same spirit of refinement, selection and innovation. The founder of the project, Laura Borghi, follows every project supported by a young and passionate team. In collaboration with its international partners, Officine Saffi has developed a network that over the years has played a fundamental role in spreading the culture of ceramics in Italy and abroad.
