Purin Pictures - grant programmes for SEA filmmakers
Purin Pictures film fund has an open call to South East Asian filmmakers to apply for funding programs for film production and film post-production.
Purin Pictures is a film fund that supports independent cinema in Southeast Asia. Started in 2017 under the Purin Foundation, it looks for artists and organizations that are doing unique and essential work in a region that lacks adequate governmental support.
Applications are open for fiction or documentary films over 60 minutes in length. Purin Pictures does not accept applications for short films. Omnibus films (several short films produced together with the intent to screen as a feature-length film) are acceptable.
The director of the film must be a citizen or resident of a SEA country. The primary production company must also be registered in a SEA country. SEA countries are: Cambodia, East Timor, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Brunei, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
To apply, applicants must have a completed script but not yet have started principal photography. The project will be judged on artistic merit, previous experience of the filmmaker, and the financial plan, budget, and likelihood of successful completion of the film.
Managed by Anocha Suwichakornpong and Aditya Assarat, Purin Pictures funding programs cover film production, film post-production, and film-related activities.
Deadline for applications: 1 March 2018
