Tipperary Dance are calling for mid-career dance artists from Ireland and Northern Ireland to undertake a two-week residency in Grand Studio, Brussels, 25 July – 7 August 2022.

The residencies are addressed to mid-career dance artists with experience in the creation and dissemination of their own work and a demonstrated track record of a minimum of five years of professional activity.

Part of the TD International Exchange Programme, Tipperary Dance is collaborating with Grand Studio (Brussels), Tenerife-LAV (Spain), Tanztendenz (Munich) and Trois C-L (Luxemburg) to support and facilitate a decentralised framework for dance artists to explore different approaches to creation, production, audience engagement and research practice(s).

A shifting landscape in arts resources has encouraged European stakeholders to build networks beyond national borders to facilitate creation, research, co-production and dissemination. Since dance artists are increasingly reliant on such networks to create and disseminate work, this project aims to strengthen the interconnection between Ireland’s dance sector and these emerging international networks.

The residency

The residency is for one project with a maximum of three participants, providing studio space, accommodation, and a stipend for travel and subsistence.

Eligibility

  • Resident of the island of Ireland
  • Over 18 years of age
  • Experienced or mid-career dance artist with experience in the creation and dissemination of their own work (minimum five years of professional activity)
