Ruy de Clavijo Scholarships 2025–2026

This call, jointly organised and financed by Casa Asia and the University of Cadiz, through the CUNEAC – International University Center for Eastern Europe and Central Asia of the Vice-Rectorate of Internationalisation, aims to award scholarships for Spanish or European researchers to carry out projects and cultural and academic cooperation related to Central Asia in the areas of cultural, educational, economic and political-social action.

The Ruy de Clavijo Scholarships aim to facilitate the rapprochement between Central Asia and Spain from the political, economic and academic spheres. The Central Asian countries involved are: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, as well as Afghanistan, Iran and Mongolia

Eligibility

• Applicants must have nationality from Spain or another EU member country. 
• The projects can take place between 15 June 2025 and 31 May 2026.
• The project must have a final physical or practical outcome, such as exhibitions, events cultural events, documentaries, publications, studies, etc.
• Applicants may be one or more people, as long as the same research project is carried out and one of the applicants meets the nationality requirements.
• Projects can be presented jointly by a Spanish or EU researcher or artist and a researcher or artist from a Central Asian country.

Support

It consists of 4 scholarships with a budget of 3,000 EUR each.
