Salzburg International Summer Academy of Fine Arts

The Salzburg International Summer Academy of Fine Arts is inviting applications for the 2025 course programme, entitled ‘Diversity of the Future’ in Salzburg, Austria.
Between July and August 2025, spaces are opened up to provide teachers and students with a place where they can devote themselves fully to their diverse artistic work and thinking. The motto is intended to foster hope in times of uncertainty and to explore possible futures. A total of 19 courses will be held in the two locations: Hohensalzburg Fortress and the Untersberg quarry.
A total of around 100 scholarships are awarded each year. The Summer Academy offers numerous scholarships, most of them covering the participation fee, while some also include travel and accommodation expenses.
These include (among others):
- In Solidarity: To be awarded to people fleeing. It includes: Participation fee for one course, travel and accommodation costs, support of living expenses.
- Eastern European scholarships: for art students from the following countries: Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Georgia, North Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Ukraine. It includes: participation fee for one course, travel costs of 200 EUR, accommodation costs of 190 EUR per week.
- ERSTE Foundation awards scholarships for young curators and artists from Croatia, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Ukraine and Hungary.
- Scholarships for those at art schools, such as KSA (Kingston School of Art), Kingston University, London, Department of Fine Arts at the Zurich University of the Arts, Freundeskreis der Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst Leipzig, students at the art academies in Munich and Nuremberg, and visual artists and art students with a connection to Vorarlberg.
