Open call for international artists to submit sculpture proposals for the Tidal Lagoon Swansea Bay in South Wales, UK.  Tidal Lagoon Swansea Bay will be the world’s first, purpose-built, tidal energy lagoon, capable of generating predictable, renewable electricity for over 120,000 homes for over 120 years.


A 16 km causeway, with tidal generators will be built out into Swansea Bay - creating a dynamic walkway complete with visitor centre, viewing platforms and sport and marine science stations.  A call open to artists worldwide for initial proposals for a major Sculpture to be sited in or on the Swansea Bay Tidal Lagoon.

- The artworks should interact, in some way, with the ambitions and significance of the Swansea Tidal Lagoon.

- deadline is the 8th of May

- three proposals will be shortlisted

- shortlisted proposals receive a budget of £ 10.000 each to be further developed

- shortlist will be announced at Hay Festival (end of May)
