Switzerland | Fundaziun Nairs residency opportunities

As part of its international Artists in Residence program, Fundaziun Nairs offers artists residencies for 2021 at the Nairs Centre for Contemporary Art in Scuol (Engadine) in the canton of Graubünden, Switzerland. The stays last at least 2 to a maximum of 6 months. The application deadline for the period February to November 2021 is 30 April 2020.

The Künstlerhaus is located in the historic bathhouse of the former Scuol-Tarasp Spa House on the banks of the River Inn. It comprises nine studios and bedrooms, a kitchen with lounge, a large event hall and exhibition rooms on three floors. Up to 10 artists, musicians, composers, authors, dancers, performers and scientists from all over the world live and work under one roof every month. The results of the work created in NAIRS will be presented and discussed monthly. The artists in residence will have their own studio and bedroom.

Approximately 30 artists can be accepted per year. A monthly contribution of CHF 500 is to be paid to cover food costs. The length of stay can be freely chosen – at least two months, maximum six months.

Fundaziun Nairs is a unique synthesis of a residency, an art gallery and culture lab. It creates space for concentrated creative work and an atmosphere for constructive dialogue between the various groups. Nairs sees itself as a place to work and meet. The individual work and the confrontation between different art disciplines shape the atmosphere in the house. In addition to the Artists in Residence program, Fundaziun Nairs regularly offers space for exhibitions and cultural events.
