Switzerland | Textile and Design Alliance Artist in Residence 2024

Textile and Design Alliance (TaDA) is calling for applications from international cultural practitioners for their transdisciplinary Artist in Residence Programme in Arbon, Eastern Switzerland, in 2024.

TaDA is a cultural promotion programme that aims to promote artistic discussion with the eastern Swiss textile and design culture and thus strengthen the regional identity. TaDA offers a work stay in Switzerland for 6 to 8 national and international practitioners

Programme partners – textile and design companies in Eastern Switzerland – make their know-how and technology available to the artists, thus giving the residents an opportunity to do practical and artistic work and carry out applied research. The partners benefit from the creative exchange with the art practitioners and the work results are presented to the public and discussed at the annual event "TaDA Spinnerei".

The residency

The residency welcomes applications from those who work in the fields of design, textile design, architecture, visual art, literature, performing arts or on transdisciplinary projects and have a strong interest in textile production and its context. Cultural practitioners who want to engage with questions related to the future of the textile industry and its sustainability are particularly welcome.

To take full advantage of the opportunities offered by the companies, basic technical knowledge of textile production is preferred. Projects with a strong experimental orientation are especially encouraged.
