Switzerland | visions sud est fund for new film projects
Each year, visions sud est fund (supported by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation) supports 10 to 12 new film projects at the production or post-production stage.
The aim of visions sud est is to encourage independent production and subsequent distribution in Switzerland of feature-length fiction and documentary films produced for cinema, in production and postproduction, from the South and East. This support should furthermore play a ‘catalyst’ role for the film industry in the country of origin of the production.
Eligibility
Feature-length fiction and documentary films (at least 70 minutes) are eligible.
The applicant producer must be established in one of the countries eligible for visions sud est and regularly produce films in these countries. In addition, the director must be from one of these countries and filming must take place mainly in eligible countries and in the local or regional language.
The eligible countries include, among others: Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Mongolia, Myanmar, Pakistan, the Philippines, and Viet Nam.
In return for support from visions sud est all, distribution rights for Switzerland (and Lichtenstein) go to the fund.
At least 30% of the budget must already be secured when the application is submitted.
