Thailand | AAD Creator in Residence for Spanish artists 2025

AAD Creator in Residence, in collaboration with the Embassy of Spain in Thailand, is calling for applications from Spanish artists in the field of photographic art, film, and graphic design to work along side students of the School of Architecture, Art, and Design (AAD), King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL), Bangkok, Thailand, for 7 to 8 weeks in November and December 2025.

AAD Creator in Residence is an educational initiative that aims to support international artists and creators participate in various departments within the school and to develop, shape, and nurture Thai youth's skill set, mindset, and toolset in order to prepare them for the global creative industries. 

The selected creator will be allowed to access facilities such as working studios, ateliers, etc., with requests to provide a public talk session, workshop, and create tangible outcomes.

Eligibility 

• Holds Spanish Nationality
• Has 5 years or more experience 
• Has sufficient ability to communicate in English 
• Capable to work and develop the project with less-experienced students
• Students are ineligible (except for Ph.D. candidates)

Support

• Airfare (not exceeding to 75,000 THB / 2,000 EUR)
• Accommodation
• Creator fees (1,000 THB / ~27 EUR)
• Production fees (60,000 THB / ~ 1,600 EUR)
• Documentation
• The opportunity to exhibit the outcome of the residency programme on campus
