Thailand | Greater Mekong Subregion Artist Residency 2025

The Office of Contemporary Art and Culture Thailand is calling for applications from artists who hold the nationality of, and currently live and work in, one of the countries in the Greater Mekong Subregion for the GMS Artist Residency 2025, taking place from 18 June to 13 July 2025 in Loei Province, Thailand, where they will develop their creative concepts and techniques, with the opportunity to create artworks for an exhibition. A total of eight artists will be selected.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Be an artist (in any field).
  • Hold nationality of, and currently live and work in, one of the countries in the Greater Mekong Subregion, including Thailand, Myanmar, Lao PDR, Cambodia, Viet Nam, and China (only Yunnan and Guangxi Provinces).
  • Not be over 45 years old at the end of this application period.
  • Not currently studying at the undergraduate level or lower, and has at least 2 years of work experience as an artist.
  • Have good command of English.
  • Have not been selected to participate in the GMS Artist Residency 2024 in Chiang Rai Province.

Support

  • Round-trip travel from the selected artists’ residences within the Greater Mekong Subregion to Loei Province, Thailand
  • Accommodation
  • Per diem
  • Local transportation in Loei for the entire duration of the programme
  • An artist’s fee of 30,000 THB
