UK and Southeast Asia mapping, call for UK consultants
The British Council is looking for UK consultants, partners and researchers for a number of research commissions in Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand. Part of their global Creative Economy programme, the projects begin on 10 October 2022.
Malaysia
Research on the role of arts and digital technology in the future of Malaysia’s creative economy. The research focus will be on understanding the ecosystem with its barriers, opportunities and stakeholders. Research findings will be utilised to develop a two-year programme for the development of sustainable creative collaborations pathways and activities between Malaysia and the UK.
Indonesia
Mapping the creative hubs and creative practitioners in Jakarta, Indonesia. The aim of the research is to gain an up-to-date view of the hubs and creative practitioners, their profiles, sustainability, impact and challenges, and build on this. The long-term goal of this project is to use the research methodology and report as a benchmark for other Indonesian cities to develop their creative and cultural industries.
Thailand
Mapping the creative and cultural districts in the UK and Thailand. The aim of the research is to establish best-practice models for sustainable communities and creative economy development. Research findings will be utilised to develop atwo-year programme for the development of creative districts in Thailand.
