UK | Call for artworks on diversity and religion in Europe
The Media Diversity Institute is calling for visual and video works from Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Poland or the UK on the topic of diversity and religion for an exhibition to be held at the University of Westminster in London, February 2023.
The Get the Trolls Out! project has been monitoring media in seven European countries, noticing an increasingly concerning distribution of antisemitic and Islamophobic visual and video media. The planned exhibition is an attempt to counter this hateful content by promoting human rights narratives about diversity and religion in Europe.
There are two categories: Visual Artworks and Video Artworks.
A total of 25 visual artworks and six videos will be selected. Selected visual artwork will receive a fee or 150 GBP and selected video artwork will receive a fee of 350 GBP.
Eligibility
- Artworks must relate to the theme of diversity and religion in Europe
- Submissions are open for artists of any nationality who are residents of one of the following countries: Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Poland or the UK
- Applicants can be of any age
- Submissions by artists from a minority background, with or without professional experience, are strongly encouraged
